Summer Selling Tips
Summer sales season is here and the outdoor lunching patios are full. The average sales person finds activity slows down as prospects and customers take time off to enjoy the beautiful weather. Who could blame you for slowing down your pace to match the slower rhythm of the summer sales season? Of course that is for the average sales person and is average what you are aiming for? Didn’t think so.
Summer Sales Tips
Use the slower business pace to your advantage and move farther ahead of your competitors. Here is a list of things you can do during the summer sales season to increase your sales:
- Schedule at least two summer sales lunches with current customers each week. With great weather and lighter work load you will find that your customers are more likely to engage in a longer lunch without the worries of what they are missing at the office. Great opportunity to strengthen those relationships.
- Get out of the office one day a week, and stop by your customers’ work place. Chat about plans for the second half of 2014.
- Host a barbecue for your prospects and invite your best advocate clients to do your selling for you.
- Pick up some gift certificates from the local ice cream parlor and mail them as a treat to your customer base. A great way to remain top of mind.
- Ask a client to invite two of his/her best prospects out to a round of golf. Your goal is to help them close business. This will build loyalty with your customer as you work with him to develop his business. As a side benefit you meet some new perspective customers. Remember your mission at the golf game is to promote your customer not sell your services, don’t worry you will have the opportunity later with a much open and friendlier prospect.
- Use the summer sales season to create new communication channels with your customer and prospects. Start a blog, create a newsletter or start using social media to establish yourself as a thought leader in your industry.
- Use the time to learn some new skills by attending one of our free webinars. Yes we run them all summer.
